The Streets of Yangon, Myanmar

Arriving in Yangon, Myanmar at night, I woke the next morning to a hot and sticky humidity that hung heavily in the air.  Even with the jet lag (after arriving from Tasmania), I managed to hire a car to tour me around the city - And what a city!  Gold-leaf pagodas scattered around the city with giant buddhas hidden away inside, spectacular but crumbling Victorian buildings built by the British in the late 1800's and of course, major traffic...

The sunrise view from my hotel room:

A typical street:

A floating restaurant:

Some of my favorite buildings (needing a little love):

City Hall:

My fellow travelers from my tour as we explored the city:

Typical traffic!
